  1. Hi Carol, I chanced upon ur blog while looking for reviews on Feline Bridal. I signed up with Feline recently, but after reading so many bad reviews (in fact, most of the reviews were really bad), I'm starting to regret. Just wanna find out more about ur experience with them, specifically, the service/responsibility, the selection of gowns, the make-up, and pre-wedding photoshoot. Thanks sooo much :)

    1. Hi Lenny, first of all, congratulations on your upcoming wedding! :)

To be very frank with you, I am very pleased with the service I received at Feline Bridal from gown fittings, wedding shoot, the photographs and most importantly, the package deal I got was reasonable and it was what we wanted. Post photoshoot processing however, left us disappointed. I'll cover that later.

The gowns they have are slightly worn, and some even more than others. But definitely wearable and clean. Designs not as much as they claim though, I feel.

Makeup was alright. Don't expect branded cosmetics though. The makeup artist was meticulous in makeup. She kept asking if I liked the makeup and style she has done for me. I am very pleased with the makeup artist I had.

Photoshoot was really tiring but fun. We had our own car so we didn't take Feline's which would be a sedan. The makeup artist actually never follows on photoshoots unless booked specifically by the couple at a cost of $200. So I think its better if you drive, IMO. Photographer was really good, funny and enthusiastic which is really important to help us give a genuine smile even under the hot afternoon sun.

Everything was great until we saw the post-photoshoot processing. It was disastrous. Like the digital artist didn't bother processing anything at all. We had 2 photos from IKEA which the artist placed in middle of our gardens by the bay layout. Totally out of place. Blemishes untouched, BCG untouched, basically everything was left as it is. We made sure everything was circled to death before we left.

We have yet to receive a call to view our post processing layout again. I will blog about it when that happens. :)

Till then, I hope this helps!

  2. Hi Carol, thanks for sharing, am glad that your experience has been generally good :)

The main reason why I chose Feline was because I saw their cataloque during a fair and was impressed with their gowns - they look unique and really pretty. Is this the reality? Or are the gowns actually very ordinary? I guess I'm ok with slightly older gowns as long as they don't look torn and tattered/dirty and are presentable. Can I ask who is your MUA? I presume you'll be getting her to do ur AD make-up as well? :) Is your MUA also your coordinator (ie the one who helps u pick out your gowns)?

Would also like to ask about the indoor studio - is the setting pretty? Did you pay for the MUA to follow on the shoot? I'm just wondering if the make-up can last an entire day if we decide to not pay her to follow us. Btw, who is your PG? I've read reviews by some brides that their photos didn't turn out nice, so I'm actually really worried :/

I'll take note on the post-photo processing. hahaha I guess we gotta really scrutinize them! :) Look forward to your next post!

    1. Hi Lenny, I picked Feline because they claimed to have a vast array of designs available and I liked their photography style. I think its important that you know what kind of look and feel you would like for your wedding album so you can lead the photographer and MUA in the right direction. As for gowns, same too. It would definitely help if you have a few pictures of designs you like to let the MUA help you look for similar designs.

Designs wise, I think they definitely have different styles but just not many of each. I was kinda stuck after picking my fourth outfit and MUA just kept coming with different gowns, patiently helping me squeeze in them. My MUA is You-You. I wasn't too sure of the styles she had done for me for the studio shoot, but she was helpful when I said I didn't like it and made sure I was okay before proceeding.

I paid to have her follow us on the shoot mainly because I am always dripping with sweat. Plus, if she is there, she'll know what to do to help you change hairstyles, in and out of gown and coordinate the accessories easily even at a public changing room. Our photographer, Jeff, he had the MUA hold onto the necessary lighting equipment and do the lift-and-run shots of my veil which actually means if the MUA isn't there to do all that, you'll have plenty of single shots by yourself cause either you or your hubby will be the one holding lighting for the other. Lol.

I didn't like some shots taken, I felt that the angle was bad. But hubby felt looked good. All up to individual tastes I guess. I was actually glad that I didn't like 30% of the shots else we would have an even harder time than we had picking photos! We took 4 hours just to pick 36 photographs out. I didn't wanna spend more than what we spent on the package alone so 4 additional photos was enough. But that's just because we didn't want additional money to be spent on photos that'll collect dust later on. I'm sure others felt a need to have it documented.

Studio.... Well its really tiny. We had the hardest time picking 2 miserable shots. I didn't like the lighting. It made me look really dark. However, we had another indoor shoot, at the area where they have all the gowns and changing room. The setting was very nice and old school. All thanks to the photographer's creative thinking.

My opinion, you should talk to the photographers on site during your visit, and see which has better chemistry with you because it really helped me heaps. I initially wanted another photographer but my hubby convinced me otherwise because that photographer I wanted wasn't as chatty and funny as Jeff, I later realized. But that's just my two cents worth.

And yup! I made sure You-You is mine to have that day :)

  3. Hi Lenny, I just called to enquire on the status of my photos and learnt that You-You has left the company. :( So sorry about that. I would have to get a new MUA now.

  4. Hi Carol, thanks so much for your advice, will definitely note them :)

Personally I prefer more natural Korean-style make-up, nothing too heavy or dramatic - shouldnt be hard I guess? As for the photographer, I've seen some photos during the fair and was told that those which I took a liking to were by Gary (I prefer fun shots and not the typical cheessy eye-to-eye contact kinda photos). But being the ever paranoid me, I'm always wondering if he can really deliever up to my standards (because I understand that he's very young!!!). Sigh, I know, I'm so skeptical. Btw, what kind of style does Jeff follow? And btw, you didnt go for trial make-up before the shoot?

For my photoshoot, I'm intending to have my Mum and Sis follow us so that they can help me with the changing of outfits and also to snap some photos. Did you try taking some pics with ur own phone and did your photographer have any issues with that?

And also, not sure if I understood you correctly, but the indoor studio is actually within the bridal studio premise at River Valley??

  5. Hi Lenny, I wanted to pick Gary too! I liked his style. But hubby liked the chemistry between Jeff and us. Gary is pretty young and I didn't have much chances to communicate with him. But Jeff has proven to us that he's capable of great photos too. We had classy romantic shots rather than those fun and young type but hubby loved it so much. I guess that'll do too :)

We picked a couple of fun candid shots where we burst in laughter cause Jeff's pretty hilarious. The rest are sweet and romantic. The best is to know what kinda style you like and pick the right locations. Be sure to make your opinions heard, IMO.

I too prefer Korean-style makeup. Since You-You has left Feline, I was left to pick 3 other MUAs and asked for Lily cause she's the most experienced of all 3.

I didn't go for trial makeup before shoot. I will only have the trial before my AD.

Hubby followed me to the fittings cause he was to choose his outfits then too. He took a few photos of the gowns to keep tab of how it looks on me. Also had You-You take a few shots of us during our shoot. They were pretty okay with it. We did ask politely. Haha.

Yup, the studio is within the boutique. Really small studio like 3m by 3m kinda size.

    Hope that helps!

  9. Music artists usually play and sing the selected custom wedding songs through the couple having a live singer along with a live band. The background music then helps make the wedding itself nearer to the pair with the wedding tunes.
